Our office is at 22 Railway Street, Chatham. You can walk in, sit down, and talk through your accounts face to face. Many clients do exactly that, especially when a deadline is close. For those who prefer remote working, we offer a full online service that works just as well.
We have been the accountant Medway businesses trust since 2012. Over 141 Google reviews and 66 five star Trustpilot reviews back that up. You are not just taking our word for it. Ask any client how long they have stayed with us.
No call centre, no rotating case handlers, and no starting over with someone new. Our limited company and sole trader clients keep the same accountant every time, one who knows their business and picks up the phone. That consistency keeps most clients with us for years.
Excellent and efficient service. Prompt, helpful and client centred.
They are... AMAZING. Complete professionalism, immense knowledge. A problem that seemed serious to me turned out to be nothing at all. Very quick and genuinely friendly contact. The word "recommend" doesn't fully capture how satisfied I am with the service, UNBEATABLE. Thank you so much, and I will certainly use their services again, along with my friends.
Support and advice at the highest level. For me, it was and is particularly important to help in contacting the authorities. The mutual trust and commitment of the ladies in the Lidertax office are constructive for me. I sincerely recommend!
A team of professionals and great people who approach each client amicably and individually. Regardless of whether you run a large company or apply for an allowance, the Lidertax accounting office will advise and help you in any situation.
Our company, Sarts Ltd, has been working with the Lidertax office for a long time and we can always count on their help.
I recommend Lidertax, that is a company that you can count on. They have worked for me for 6 years now and I am really happy with their experience in all aspects of accounting and bookkeeping. They can help and explain any problems. Multi services available at a good price. As a loyal customer I recommend 5 star treatment for everyone.
From April 2026, Making Tax Digital for Income Tax applies to sole traders and landlords with gross income over £50,000. From April 2027, the threshold drops to £30,000. This is based on your total turnover before expenses, not your profit, so check your gross figures carefully if you are close to the line.
Under MTD, you keep digital records and send quarterly updates to HMRC, instead of one annual Self Assessment return. You still confirm your final tax position at year end. That means more frequent reporting, but fewer surprises when the deadline arrives.
Your limited company name must be unique and not already registered at Companies House. It cannot include restricted words without permission, and it must end in "Limited" or "Ltd". We check name availability as part of setting up your LTD company.
A sole trader and their business are legally the same, with unlimited personal liability. A limited company is a separate legal entity, offering limited liability. Ltd company owners pay Corporation Tax on profits, not Income Tax.
Self Assessment is how HMRC collects Income Tax from people whose tax is not deducted automatically, including the self-employed, company directors, and landlords. If you fall into any of these categories, you need to file a return each year.
Self-employment income includes anything you earn from running your own business, freelancing, or contracting. It covers cash payments, invoiced work, and goods taken as payment. All of it needs declaring on your Self Assessment return.
The standard VAT rate is 20 percent, applying to most goods and services. A reduced 5 percent rate covers items like home energy, and some goods are zero rated or exempt. Getting your VAT returns right depends on applying the correct rate to every sale.
The current Personal Allowance is £12,570, the amount you can earn before paying Income Tax. It gradually reduces once your income passes £100,000, and disappears entirely above £125,140.
It is not a legal requirement, but limited company accounts and Corporation Tax returns are hard to get right alone. An accountant in Medway keeps you compliant, files on time, and flags problems before HMRC does. Most LTD company owners find it pays for itself.
You need records of all income, business expenses, receipts, and bank statements. Sole traders should also keep mileage logs and invoices. HMRC expects these records kept for at least five years after the filing deadline.
Missing the 31 January deadline brings an automatic £100 penalty, even if you owe no tax. Further penalties build up the longer you delay, plus interest on any tax owed. We help clients avoid this by preparing returns well ahead of time.
Call or message us. We always offer a free consultation, where we prepare a tailored quote for limited companies. For the simplest Self Assessment, the standard cost for 2026 is £180 including VAT, though please always confirm pricing with us directly. Book your free consultation - CLICK.
Accurate bookkeeping keeps your limited company ready for Corporation Tax, VAT returns, and Companies House filings. It also gives you a clear, real-time view of how your business is actually performing. Poor bookkeeping is one of the most common causes of late or incorrect filings.
We do not have one fixed price, because every client is different, with different needs and expectations. So call us, ask your questions, and book a free consultation. We will take care of the rest, and once you are with us, most clients stay for years.
